Instead of posting my first real post in my 30 day challenge, I decided to go to the hospital and attempt to figure out why I have a random sharp pain where my ribs meet. So I apologize to anyone waiting for my first post, which was probably no one, but I like to pretend that I have at least one person checking for something new in my life to pop up on my blog. Ha-ha.

I got the pain around 7 or  8pm last night. Called my doctor and got the earliest appointment they had which is today at 2:30pm. Despite me having an appointment I went to Virtua Immediate Care to see if they could help me with the pain. Since they do not have an ultra sound or cat scan, they could not help me. Immediate Care is for “when children and adults are too sick to wait for an appointment but too well to go to the emergency room.” They treat stuff like:

  • Breaks and sprains
  • Colds/Flu
  • Ear infections
  • Minor cuts
  • Strep throat
  • Upper respiratory problems
  • Urinary tract infections

They just don’t have anything to see inside the human body so they were useless to me. So I went to Virtua in Voorhees. I like that hospital a LOT more than any Kennedy I have ever been to. Anyway, the hospital initially thought it was something to do with my gall bladder like a stone, but after an ultrasound they said that my gall bladder looked fine. So now they are thinking it is an ulcer or heartburn. I have never had heartburn before so I have no idea if it is that. The way people describe heartburn is completely different than my pain. Before leaving the referred me to a GI (Gastro Intestinal) doctor. Bleh. So, today I am going to my doctor appointment to tell them about my pain, my visit to the hospital, show them my prescription and my referral. I am going to keep my netbook with me today to I can start typing up those blogs I owe and not be bored. 🙂 Catch ya on the flipside.
