This is a very greedy and selfish post. I figured that if I write down exactly what I want maybe I can save up and actually get each specific thing that I desire. It is pretty hard to save money since I am an impulsive buyer and I have a 2-year-old and a baby on the way. In all honesty, I would do anything for my children before I do for myself. However, at the same time, I need to do things for myself to help me feel good, and help that average American girl low self-esteem. These lists are merely skin deep. (Which gives me another post idea. :D) And now, without further ado… My Lists:
Things I want to buy:
1. KQC X-Heat Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron (1″ inch):
Available at the popular website: flatironexperts.com
I have a flat-iron already. However, I have had it for about a year now and the quality of it’s performance has greatly decreased. It does not keep constant heat the entire time that I am using it, which makes the process of straightening my hair take longer than I wish it would. The flat-iron I own currently (purchased at Target) does not let me control the temperature. I would like to be able to turn down the intensity of the heat for my bangs. It doesn’t pack the punch like it used to when I am attempting to curl my hair. I figure that by investing in a good straightener that has a warranty, I will ultimately get my money’s worth and be able to take better care of my hair.
2. Hp Mini 210 Series
Available at hp.com
I bought my HP Netbook almost 2 years ago (purchased at Target) . I loved it very much. Although, I did not take care of it as I should have. It ran fast for me and was always very reliable. Roughly, about 3 months ago, my netbook randomly stopped working. I had properly shut it down after watching a movie with my daughter then an hour later went to use it, and my netbook showed a blue screen with a bunch of nonsense that I didn’t understand. If I remember correctly, my boyfriend was saying that my netbook was not recognizing my hard drive or that it thought there was no operating system on it (I really don’t remember). Then, about 2 months ago, a month after my net book crapped out, my boyfriend’s laptop crapped out. Then he took his hard drive and put in my netbook and we have this weird mix of his laptop and my netbook. Bleh. I miss having my own computer to organize the way that I prefer. For now, this Frankenstein Lap/Net Book will have to do.
3. Velecta Paramount Professional Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer:
Available at the popular website: flatironexperts.com
I currently do not own a hair dryer at all. When I want to straighten my hair, I have to let it air dry, which is a hassle for me since certain areas dry a lot faster than others. I do not like to straighten my hair when it is wet, so getting a hair dryer that will not only help to dry all my hair at the same time, but also help straighten my hair and make it soft and flowing before my flat-iron even touches it would be nice. Every thing I have read about this hair dryer has been nothing but good reviews. It is hard to find anything negative about this hair dryer.
I can’t post any links to a specific purse or handbag due to the fact that I could not find one that I like anywhere I looked. (If you have any suggestions on where to look for one please comment! Or feel free to comment where you got some of your purses). I know that I don’t want a tote or something that is ridiculously expensive. When I say expensive I do mean anything $100+. Honestly, I find spending anything over $50 to be a bit steep for my blood, but if I am absolutely in love with it, I could see myself splurging on it. However, I remember watching a YouTube video recently, to get some purse ideas, and this female was trying to justify why she bought a duplicate of a $2,000 bag. It was like a clutch with a long, non adjustable strap. If someone wanted me to spend two grand on a purse, I would have to beat them until their senses came back.
5. An Engagement Ring
Jimmy Moser, if you are reading this, get on it! xD
Haha. I love my boyfriend very much. I honestly believe that we are ready to take our relationship to the next level. 🙂 If only we were more financially gifted.
Things I want to change about myself:
1. Healthier, Softer and Longer Hair:
Right now, when my hair is straightened, it is at my shoulders. It is super annoying how it flares out from laying against the back of my neck. When I wear my hair naturally curly, it comes down about a quarter-inch past my chin. My hair is really think and I hate to even think about brushing it. I do try to stay away from harsh products with alcohol for the fact that it dries out my hair and makes it feel like straw. I want to grow my hair out to the middle of my back when it is curly. I feel like once the weight of my curly hair drops below my shoulders, I will be able to style it easier. I am drinking plenty of water. I have read that being well hydrated will help grow healthier hair; plus, I am pregnant and the extra water is good for my bun in the oven. 🙂
2. Healthy Clear Skin
I have combination, acne prone skin. The sides of my face and my chin tend to get pretty oily, while my cheeks get very dry. My nose enjoys a happy balance of getting too oily some days and being really dry on others. I know that with my pregnancy, my hormones are all over the place and that can lead to break outs, but also being 32 weeks pregnant and stressing out can lead to break outs. Getting nervous about my baby shower, that I don’t even know anything about contributes a lot too. I won’t even go into what having a 2½ year old is like. Haha. I am trying new things. Slowly changing one thing at a time to see what works best for me. May I recommend washing your face with oatmeal? It makes my face feel super soft, and my cheeks haven’t been super dry which is nice now that it’s getting chilly outside. Feel free to comment with what products work for you. I’d love to hear. 🙂
3. Nicer Nails and Skin around Nails
Hi, everyone. My name is Melissa, and I am a nail biter. I know that it is a horrible habit. So many germs and viruses are always on our hands. I recently have stopped biting my nails. I am working SO hard to finally purge myself of this habit. The skin around my nails can sometimes be dry and I’m hoping that hand and cuticle cream that I purchased at Rite-Aid will hopefully, over time, make my skin healthier and more aesthetically pleasing.
4. Healthier Weight
Of course this is going to wait until after my belly isn’t full of chunky baby. I know that my pregnancy BMI (Body Mass Index) was “average”. Your BMI is determined by your height and weight. However, it was a lot closer to the “over weight” area than the “under weight”, and due to my average American girl self-esteem, I want to be thinner. I don’t want my BMI to drop down to “under weight”. I am not anorexic or anything. I just want to look and feel good about my body size. I’m not setting a size goal. I don’t know if my body would look at all attractive at a size 2 or a 5, so I’m just going to try to get my body healthy and in shape.
5. Healthier Diet
When I say diet, I mean eating habits. I want to balance out all the vegetables and fruits I eat with a healthy amount of proteins. I have been asked by many friends and relatives if I am a vegetarian. I am not. I just don’t eat a lot of meat. I don’t know why, but I’d rather eat a big plate of green beans than eat steak. That’s my personal preference. I do like to try new foods. I need to try sushi, so if you know some stuff about sushi comment and let me know what to try. Also feel free to tell me what your favorite food is. 🙂
