This weekend was a lot different than most. We had Lilly! She was really sick Thursday and Mike said that it would be fine for her to stay with us. During the weekend, she did get better; my family had the pleasure of being together for three days straight.
On Thursday, Lilly had a fever peeking at 101.7°F, stomach ache, runny nose, and cough. I took Lilly to the doctor and got some medcine for her. The doctor said that she was probably more contagious on Wednesday than Thursday, so the spreading of the virus was over. We watched The Lion King and The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride before bedtime.
By Friday, her fever broke and she no longer had a cough. Aaron and Emma (my little brother and sister) had off from school, so they came over until 5pm. Lilly was so happy to see them. They watched The Lion King 1½, and played a billion games. Lilly was really sad to see them go, but we reassured her that she would see them again and that she had a new friend coming over to play.
Around 6:30/7pm James’ coworker Brian came over with his girlfriend Nicole and their daughter Brianna. Lilly is about 8 months older than Brianna, but they had TONS of fun together. They dressed up like princesses, colored princess coloring books and watched Tangled. They stayed until about midnight since Brian and James were experimenting with Plasti-Dip on Brian’s new Honda Civic.
On Saturday, I had a job interview! I had to go to the Cherry Hill Mall, which is about a half hour from my house. The original plan was for all four of us to go. Afterwards we could walk around or maybe get something to eat.
However, our 1992 Nissan Pathfinder decided that it was just not feeling the driving thing today. So, I had to borrow Brian’s two seater and go alone.
Although the manager conducting the inteview noted that I didn’t talk much, I feel that it went rather well. I tend to be on the shy side until I know how people will react to certain things.
After the interview, I had to go online and do a questionnaire. On the 44th question I messed up because my nose was itchy. I scratched my nose and when I laid my hand back down on the touch pad on my Franken-top I pretty much said:
In my opinion, a person who steals $5.00 a year from his or her boss is not a theif.
I was so upset with myself. I wasn’t able to go back, and once you submit… that’s it… I called and asked if there as anything I could possibly do to fix it. Alas, there was nothing I could do. Hopefully one messed up answer will not fail me. Anywho, keep your fingers crossed! I really hope I get this job!
Sunday was the day Lilly only had a runny nose. I convinced James to walk to the park so Lilly could get out and play. We put Benny in the stroller, Lilly in the wagon and set out for the park. I wish I would have realized how long
of a walk it really is to get there.
When we got to the park, I decided to take some pictures of Lilly playing.
On Monday, we pretty much relaxed all day. Lilly and I baked a Lemon Drizzle Loaf, Vanilla-Frosted Cupcakes and Thumbprint Cookies.
It was a really enjoyable weekend. I loved every second of it.
Did you do something special on President’sDay weekend?
