I love the 11:11 wish. I just think it is such a cute idea. For the those of you that don’t know, it is believed that this is a good time to make wishes. Whenever I saw 11:11 on a clock, I was wholeheartedly wishing with all my might for Jim to ask me to marry him.
There was a lot of hoopla on social media sites for “THE MOST EPIC WISH EVER” which would happen on 11/11/11 at 11:11(am and pm). I knew what I was wishing for and I was so excited for that day!
On November 11, 2011 at 11:11 am, I was helping Jim clean out his work truck. I was 8 months pregnant with my son and had gotten sick in the passenger seat the night before. I didn’t even notice that I had missed 11:11 until it was 11:15. I was a little upset, but I remembered that there is two 11:11’s in one day (not in military time).
I was determined to make this epic wish! With Lilly off visiting her father for the weekend, I had very little left to do for the day. My major obstacle was staying awake until it was time.
If i remember correctly, I fell asleep around 10pm that nighton the sofa, but Jim woke me up at 11pm to head to bed. We headed upstairs and got ready for bed. As I snuggled under the covers I checked my phone for the time. It was 11:11pm.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I wished harder than I ever have before. I wished once again for Jim to ask me to marry him. Then, I opened my eyes.
To my surprise, a beautiful claddah ring is waiting in my line of vision. With tears pouring down my face the world was silent as I cried yes to Jim’s proposal.
Fast forward to June 9, 2014 (the five year anniversary of the day Jim and I had first started dating). I am standing under a weeping willow tree in very simple white dress. My eyes are glazed with tears as I look into Jim’s blue eyes and say my vows.
Jim and I eloped at Cooper River Park in Cherry Hill, NJ with our parents, siblings and children surrounding us.
We are married! Very happily married. Mr. & Mrs. Moser.
We’ve been married for about 7 months now, and it’s still weird hearing the terms husband and wife. However, Lilly has taken rather quickly to the term Step dad. She thinks it is the coolest thing ever.
